Off to the Write Start at the 2022 VA Festival of the Book

The Muse hosted the Moseley Writers Group for the second annual round of speed critiques as part of the Virginia Festival of the Book on Sunday, March 13th. This year, a record number of submissions was received, and the members of the Moseley Writers Group critiqued the first 100 words of the anonymous, unpublished manuscripts, touching on elements such as gripping first sentences, building tension, creating a sense of place and character right off the bat, and of course, the timeless “show don’t tell.”
