Mike Lovely

Lt. Michael Lovely is an active member of the public safety community in Virginia. He has several years' experience investigating violent crimes, to include over 500 robbery investigations and 42 bank robberies. He is a Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Gang Specialist and General Instructor, and has been certified as an expert in suspect identification. His specialized training includes all aspects of criminal investigation including crime scene forensics, blood spatter and analysis, and interviews and interrogation. He is also a licensed polygraph examiner, and conducts training for financial institution employees in the area of bank security. Lt. Lovely is currently assigned to his department’s Homeland Security Division where he continues to instruct new and senior police officers in a wide range of police related topics. During his career, he has received numerous commendations, including the Distinguished Service Medal, Officer of the Year, and the department’s highest award, the Medal of Honor. Lt. Lovely has handled many high profile cases, and has been featured on the Live with Regis and Kelly show and The Virginian-Pilot.
