Creative Writing Camp for Adults

Each hour in this fun, day-long Friday “camp” for adult creative writers, we’ll explore different aspects of writing and the writing life. During parts of the day, all attendees will write together as well as enjoy camp-wide addresses and workshops by former Virginia Poet Laureate Tim Seibles and Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist Desiree Cooper. Plus 12 breakout sessions will allow you to explore craft, professional development, and/or fun. Topics will include the writers life, point of view, prompt writing, detective stories, word games, plotting, agents & publishers, flash fiction, Zentangle, writing about patients and medical care, the English language, and songwriting, among others. The camp will conclude with a 5 p.m. Writers Happy Hour, where you can mingle with campers as well as Muse students, teachers, and friends. This is a great chance for you to have fun with your words–both out loud and on paper. Come and express and rejuvenate yourself in a guided, friendly, and supportive environment. Light snacks and supplies provided. Bag lunch or lunch on your own. Strictly limited to 23 attendees.

Please note: This class or event is in-person and will be held at our center.
