The Muse's instructors are all working writers and published authors who have taught courses at colleges, universities, and other community organizations. Read our teachers’ biographies and see what classes they are currently teaching.
A long time student of The Muse, Lisa Cooper received her Master's Degree in Creative Writing and Adult Education with a concentration in Memoir from Seton Hill University. Trained and certified as a Peer Recovery Specialist in the state of Virginia, she developed The Muse's first Writing through Grief and Trauma class after working as a grief workshop facilitator. Before coming to The Muse to teach she worked as an adjunct at The College of William and Mary and at Paul D. Camp Community College in the English department. Her personal writing currently centers on slice-of-life pieces about her experiences as an EMT.
