The Muse's instructors are all working writers and published authors who have taught courses at colleges, universities, and other community organizations. Read our teachers’ biographies and see what classes they are currently teaching.
Kristin Mehaffey has been teaching how to write comics at the Muse since 2016. Her students range in all ages and experience levels, whether they are adults taking the 101 course or children engaging in workshops. She got her start making comics in middle school for the school newspaper, and since then, she has been published in Whurk Magazine, employed at a comic shop, and can be found tabling her comics at conventions. She currently freelances for sequential artwork and character design, with clients such as The Virginia Zoo, Studio Center, and The Governor's School for the Arts.
