Writing Humor & Satire

Do you want to hone your funny bone? In this humor writing seminar, you will learn how to form a strong comedic point of view in the style of McSweeney’s, Shouts and Murmurs, and other top short humor venues. This class will cover how to develop a generate ideas, how to punch up instead of down, and examine what makes writing funny. We’ll also explore venues that publish humor, review submission guidelines, and discuss internet presence.

Please note: This class or event will be held online (using Zoom or a similar live platform). To participate, students or attendees should have a stable internet connection. Class participants: you should have a computer or device with a webcam and microphone; and your Zoom link will be automatically sent to you after you register.
