In a time when there only seems to be 2 options to every predicament, it is very important to increase our creative and critical thinking. In some African cultures, the development of these important skills is done through the use of dilemma stories. Dilemma stories are made to intrigue the listener, but not provide the “satisfaction” of a complete ending. It is up to the listener to decide how they should end the story, but unlike a “choose your ending” story, must also be able to share WHY they chose the answer. The use of dilemma stories helps anyone who is facing challenging conflicts, i.e., public policy and health, educational quandaries, reinvigorating and/or changing the nature of a business, revitalizing a church or religious organization. This program will also discuss how to create dilemma stories for you or your organization using culturally relevant events and issues. Come ready to think, share, listen and grow.
