Playwriting Primer: Dialogue and Dramatic Action (Now Online)

Please note: This class will now have online meetings. Your teacher will contact you with information on how to join the online classroom. To participate, students must have a stable internet connection with a computer or device with a webcam and microphone.

How can I tell a story without providing those paragraphs of exposition, or those lovely passages about the breathtaking landscape, or paint the picture of that terrible moment when the protagonist knew that she’d lost her last real friend? In this seminar we will learn about the power of dialogue and brevity and how to capture the essence of those sweeping paragraphs into choices, events, exchanges between characters, shifts in beats, and gestures.

Prerequisite: Open to: writers of all levels of experience
