Outlining Workshop for Writing Sanity

It is not uncommon for fear and trembling to set in when a writer tries to weave together their story. Some sit down and start cold turkey…”He was a dark and stormy knight…” They freeze up. Stop and try to attempt a different scene in another chapter, “She was a little dark storm cloud..” Loop back around. Kill Aunt Esmeralda in chapter 22. Add a rescue Ponski with supernatural powers in chapter 14. Freeze up. Soon the writer inevitably starts rocking back and forth in their favorite swivel chair, pulling their hair, drooling, and soothing themselves with childhood lullabies from Nana. All writing and organizing come to a screeching halt.

The outline is one of the most powerful weapons in a writer’s arsenal. This class will restore sanity and help you to choose the right type of outline for you, guide you in brainstorming plot ideas, and aid you in developing your characters. Ultimately, this class is about looking at the big picture of your wonderful ideas and organizing them into a workable plan of action and structure, a plan that will help even the most distracted writers take charge and get focused.

Please note: This class is an online class. To participate, students must have a stable internet connection with a computer or device with a webcam and microphone.
