Winter/Spring Class Schedule Announced!

We are releasing our classes in 2 phases. Part 1 of our schedule is below and contains dozens of completely new classes and workshops. Stay tuned for phase 2 in late January.

We have an amazing first half of our Winter/Spring 2024 In-Person, Online, & Hybrid class, workshop, and seminar schedule that starts in February and runs through May. You can find the right class for you by genre or in a searchable calendar and register now. Tuition assistance and flexibility is available if you need it. Just check that box on the payment form.

When registering, make sure you indicate how many seats you want before your click on "Get Tickets."

You'll find our introductory classes and workshops in Poetry, Fiction, Memoir & Creative Nonfiction, Screenwriting, and Songwriting, as well as many great classes for Young Writers and Teens . Plus we have a great series of all-new craft, creativity, knowledge, and professional development seminars

Rainbow Write-in

What's a rainbow write-in, you ask? Well, it's just like a regular write-in, but more colorful! Join us every 3rd Tuesday in person at the Muse or online to spark your creativity and get some words on the page. Stay for the entire two hours or just stop in for 10 minutes; open to all--just come prepared to write. Please register in advance if you plan to attend via Zoom. Co-hosted by The Muse and Eleanor's Norfolk.

Write Now! with The Muse & Slover Library for Adults

Are you looking for a little inspiration? Come on down (virtually), join us and Write Now! A talented and qualified Muse teacher will lead you through an easy, fun, and creative workshop full of writing prompts and creative sharing. Free registration required. Wednesday Wordsmiths!

Join us every Wednesday for an inspiring and collaborative writing experience. Whether you're a seasoned wordsmith or just starting your literary journey, this group welcomes all. Bring your latest writing to share with fellow enthusiasts, or dive into our engaging exercises and prompts designed to spark your imagination. Writers Happy Hour

Sci-Fi Day Write-In!

Come join us to celebrate Sci-Fi Day at our first annual Sci-Fi Day Write-In! Don't write sci-fi? That's ok, Fantasy, Romantasy, horror, and absurdism welcome, too. Coffee, tea, and soda provided, please feel free to bring your own snacks. Or you can join us online via Zoom.

High School Sophomores & Juniors... Be a Teen Fellow!

The Muse Writers Center is now taking application for our 2024 Teen Writers Fellowship! Any sophomore or junior student who lives in the greater Tidewater/Hampton Roads area is encouraged to apply. The fellows selected will receive 25 creative writing classes and workshops, 4 mentorship sessions with a professional writer, and have the chance to pitch to literary agents at a writers conference. All at no cost to the fellow! Deadline to apply is January 9, 2024.
The Muse's physical center will be closed to the public Thursday, December 21-Monday, January 1 for winter break. The Center will re-open as usual on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Our staff will still be working throughout the holidays, so feel free to donate, register for a class, or reach out to us.

The Muse Writers Center's physical space is open for people to write, meet others, and learn more about The Muse four days a week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. See our Locations, Hours, & Directions page for more information..

The Muse has installed is installing an iWave-R air purification system that uses needlepoint bipolar ionization (NPBI) cold plasma technology to sanitize the air, killing viruses, bacteria, and mold.
