College/Graduate School Scholarships: Applications Due August 31
|
Applications are now open for the Joan Rorke-McClure Futures Scholarships for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year. These scholarships are available to current and past students at the Muse Writers Center to help pay a portion of their tuition/expenses for beginning or continuing undergraduate or graduate study in creative writing. At least four scholarships will be awarded, each with a value of up to $1,000. The application deadline is August 31, 2020. Learn more and apply online.

August is Women in Translation Month, highlighting excellent women writers whose work deserves greater attention in English translation. Join us and hear Virginia writers and translators share their work and the words of the women who have influenced them, along with some new translations,, with special guest, the Poet Laureate of Virginia, Luisa Igloria. Other readers include: Joanna Eleftheriou, Amanda Galvan Huynh, Sofia Starnes, translator Dr. Afef Benessaieh, & translator Dr. Peter Schulman.
