Giving Tuesday is tomorrow! If you have donated to The Muse, become a member, or renewed your membership this month, we cannot thank you enough.
If you are thinking about contributing to our #GivingTuesday goal but haven't yet, I hope you will consider doing so today, to help us achieve our goal of doubling our outreach programs for underserved voices in our community—including, youth, military & veterans, seniors, those dealing with loss, grief and trauma, and so many others.

Did you know?
  • The Muse served more than 600 members of the Armed Forces through our military & veteran literary programs in 2023.
  • Writing helps stimulate cognitive function and memory retention. It can also help preserve memories. The Muse offers several dedicated literary outreach programs for seniors, hosting classes in memoir, poetry and more.
  • The Muse provides nearly $30,000 in tuition assistance and scholarships to over 600 students and helps send 4 people to college each year. We believe everyone should have access to the literary arts, regardless of their financial situation.
  • Our community programs, offered in-person and virtually, are powered by a small but mighty staff and hundreds of volunteers—all helping bring the literary arts to thousands across Coastal Virginia and around the world.
