Changing the World One Poem at a Time (Part 3)
Join The Muse and Virginia Poet Laureate Luisa A. Igloria for a three-part series featuring Young Poets in the Community from around Virginia. This event, part three, will present readings by the High School VA 2021-22 Young Poets in the Community winners followed by a short conversation on their public poetry project proposals. This free event will be held over Zoom; please register to attend the live Zoom webinar.

Tim Seibles Book Launch Reading: Voodoo Libretto: New & Selected Poems

Join The Muse as we celebrate one of our best friends, Tim Seibles, with a book launch, reading, and Q&A for his new book, Voodoo Libretto: New & Selected Poems. The free event will be held in-person at Taste in Norfolk's Ghent. Due to social distancing, seating may be limited. Prince Books will be selling copies of the book. Tim will sign autographs after the reading. Complimentary refreshments and a cash bar will be on-site. All are welcome!

We have scheduled this session as a mostly online session; classes will be held using Zoom. We are hopeful that we will be able to add a few in-person classes as the session progresses in the spring, and perhaps even offer some hybrid classes. We appreciate your patience. We just want to ensure everyone's health and safety during the pandemic. To participate in online classes, students must have a stable internet connection with a computer or device with a webcam and microphone.

Please Note: The Muse's physical space will be closed to the public Tuesday, March 22-Saturday, March 26 for our staff spring break at the AWP Conference. We will re-open on Tuesday, March 29.

- The Muse Writers Center's physical space is open for people to write, meet others, and learn more about The Muse four days a week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. See our Locations, Hours, & Directions page for more information.
- You must be vaccinated (those 12 and older) to enter The Muse's physical space. You are required to wear a mask upon entering. Once inside, if you are in a room by yourself, you may remove your mask. But if two or more are gathered in one room or public space, you must wear a mask.
- The Muse has installed is installing an iWave-R air purification system that uses needlepoint bipolar ionization (NPBI) cold plasma technology to sanitize the air, killing viruses, bacteria, and mold.

During the Coronavirus in-person shutdown, the staff of The Muse Writers Center has been busy preparing for our eventual re-opening. We are re-organizing our library, assembling more comfortable furniture for our classrooms, and more.

Sponsorships can be made in honor of or in memory of someone special. Credit cards and checks are accepted. You can sponsor more than one item or room, and can split larger sponsorships into payments.
