Muse Press Release: Earth Day Poetry Reading

Poetry as Ecology of Care: A Virtual Reading at The Muse

NORFOLK, VA April 14TH, 2022
What can poetry do to address issues such as climate change, and how can it build communities and care?
Join the Muse Writers Center and Virginia Poet Laureate Luisa Igloria this Earth Day for a reading and conversation that explores these linked themes, featuring poets Tyree Daye, Padmapani Perez, Diane Woodcock, and Claire Wahmanholm. These incredible poets will read from their work, then engage with the interconnectivity of ecopoetry, activism, and creating communities of care.
"this earth but in my ancestor’s tongue / this earth full of ravens’ calls / this earth but my mama’s hurt is a spindle to her love"
--Tyree Daye, “’tween my gone people & me”
This free event will be held live on Zoom on April 22, 2022 at 7pm ET and a recording will be available on the Muse Facebook page. Register to attend and see more upcoming events at www.the-muse.org
