Writing for Artists

Are you looking for a way to combine visual art with the craft of writing? We at The Muse are dedicated to cultivating a diverse community of creatives who work in a variety of media and explore their creative potential to the fullest!

Are you a comic maker and/or writer brimming with ideas and need some ears – and eyes – on your work? Refine your projects and share your progress with teaching artist Kristin Mehaffey in The Comic Book & Graphic Novel Workshop!

If you’re new to comics, but want to learn more and give it a shot, consider Kristin’s Intro Comic Book & Graphic Novel Writing class!

Comics are for everyone, whether you draw or not. Doodle a stick figure with some words inside a box, and bam, you’ve made a comic. Or you may want to shoot to master composition, expression, dialogue, color theory, anatomy, et cetera! For comics, the bar is low but the sky is the limit.

The Comic Book & Graphic Novel Workshop meets Thursdays bi-weekly Jun 10 – Aug 19, 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm.

Introduction to Comics & Graphic Novel Writing meets Wednesdays bi-weekly Jul 14 – Aug 25, 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm.

Who are Kristin’s favorite authors?

Kristin is really excited about webtoon creators! From ongoing stories by Walter Ostile and Kelley Harris to strip comics by fishball and Sarah Anderson.
