Toi Thomas

Toinette “Toi” Thomas graduated from The University of Virginia’s College at Wise with a degree in Computer Science and continues to embrace technology in many aspects of her personal and professional life. Toi adores helping others and has worked as a teaching assistant, behavioral therapist’s assistant, and an employee trainer, making an impact in the lives of both children and adults. Toi considers herself a reading advocate and strives to increase literacy and promote the value of reading. Toi has previously moderated and hosted the IWSG Book Club and maintains a bookish blog, The ToiBox of Words. Beyond self-publishing picture books and nonfiction commentary, Toi has been featured in several fiction anthologies. In addition to creating and hosting the Read All Over Show and the Read Local Show, video podcasts available on YouTube, Toi has made many public appearances to promote reading and writing. Toi has spoken at The Slover and other local libraries and has appeared as a guest speaker at RavenCon. Throughout the years, Toi has continued to hone her writing skills by taking advantage of classes at the Muse Writers Center and looks forward to continued growth within the local literary community.
