Michael Harvey

Michael Harvey and his family (wife Ginny and daughters Vienna and Rhiannon) moved to Norfolk after completing a four-year world-sailing adventure starting from Seattle when the girls were seven and five including a transit of the Panama Canal. After spending a winter in Waterside Marina, the family decided to make West Ghent their permanent home once they finished sailing and moved ashore 20 years ago in the fall of 2005. Michael graduated from Stanford with a BS in Industrial Engineering / Management Science & Engineering in 1987. He worked as an Assistant Treasurer at JP Morgan in Manhattan and as a Product Manager at Microsoft before spending several years consulting for the first wave of Seattle Internet companies in the late 90s. Following the move ashore in Norfolk, Michael spent three years as EVP/Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Norfolk-based software company Concursive Corporation, helping the firm raise VC-funding from Intel Capital. He led Operation Smile’s digital transformation initiative as VP of Technology and Brand Globalization. In 2009, he joined New York-based ecommerce software developer, Corra Technology, as COO growing the company from three employees in the US and 15 in India to over 300 globally distributed professionals. In early June, 2023, Corra was acquired by Publicis Sapient—one of the largest System Integrators and Digital Agencies in the world. Michael retired from Corra in April of 2024 to devote time and energy to giving back to Norfolk and the Hampton Roads community in three areas important to him: social justice, the environment, and, of course, the Arts. Michael is a lifelong musician (piano, guitar, drums), composer, and recording engineer. He is also an avid runner, backpacker, and reader.
