The Creative Writing INDOC: A Start-Up Guide to Creative Writing for the Military by Veteran Writers

Members of the United States military are bound to have many unique experiences. Experiences worthy of a book, short story, or maybe even a screenplay. Rather than repeating, “you had to be there…” members of the military community can learn the skill of creative writing and put their stories on the page so they can come alive and be experienced by every reader.

The Muse Writers Center has taught several veterans of Hampton Roads and helped guide them through the once unthinkable road to publication: Mike Krentz (Dead Already), David Cascio (Frog Flyer), and Erin Beaty (The Traitor’s Trilogy), are just a few veteran writers who started their writer’s life at The Muse as a student.

The Creative Writing INDOC is the perfect way to begin or jumpstart this journey. Students can learn the practical basics or sharpen their skills with this informative and interactive 3-hour class led by a seasoned veteran writer.

If there is a book in ya, we will help you find it and get it out.

Pre-Register here: https://the-muse.org/freeforservice/

The class is free for all active duty, veterans, family, and caregivers of the U.S. Armed Forces. This workshop and others made possible in part through the National Endowment for the Arts.
