Call For SubmissionsÂ
The Muse Writers Center is partnering with the Norfolk Academy to produce an anthology of teen writing. We hope to highlight creative work by Hampton Roads teens that was produced during the pandemic, though the subject matter of submissions does not have to concern our changed world directly.
The literary journal will be published in the Spring of 2021. The deadline to submit is April 1st.
Guidelines
The work must be:
- By you
- Unpublished
- Produced during the pandemic
We are accepting multi-genre work: poetry, short fiction, screenplays, songs, etc. Submissions should be no more than 2,000 words.
What do I write about?
Whatever you wish! Your submission can be fiction or non-fiction. It can be directly about COVID-19 or can be about something totally other. The only important criteria is that your work was produced during this time.
Please email Muse Youth Coordinator Remy Smidt at rsmidt@the-muse.org with any questions. I am happy to help.
All of us are excited to review your work. Also, while you're here, consider taking a class with us.
