Our Teachers
The Muse's instructors are all working writers and published authors who have taught courses at colleges, universities, and other community organizations. Read our teachers’ biographies and see what classes they are currently teaching.
Sarah Philpott
Sarah Philpott is a newly emerging writer who recently moved from Norfolk to Hawaii, but still remains connected and active within The Muse community.
While in high school she was awarded a significant scholarship to Hollins University for her penmanship, and went on to earn her Creative Writing B.A. in the spring of 2021. Sarah joined The Muse as a middle school student, and received one the center's Rorke-McClure Futures Scholarships for 2017-2018. She will be teaching her first Muse class in October 2023; an online world-building class open to students of all ability levels.
While she hopes to one day focus exclusively on novels, she is currently working on short stories set within immersive Science Fiction and Fantasy worlds.
