Meredith Byrd
Meredith has been fascinated by stories ever since she was a child and tried to start a storytelling business. Unfortunately, that venture went bust when she had to bribe her younger siblings with candy to listen to her tales.
Since then, she has spent a lifetime learning how to write stories that she and others love. Earning a bachelor’s degree in English at George Mason University, she planned to continue her love of story in film and television but quickly discovered a passion for teaching that led her back to George Mason for a master’s degree in English Literature.
After that, she moved to Austin, Texas where she taught stories and storytelling, grammar, and composition to college and high school students while coaching the swim team (for which she learned to drive a school bus!).
In her spare time, she writes romance novels under the pen name Evie McCoy. She now lives in Virginia with her husband, son, and a very old border collie lab mix.
She loves helping authors of diverse experiences and perspectives create a writing life that is empowered and impactful. She is driven by community-minded, collaborative efforts to learn and grow.
