Alex Kissilenko
Alex Kissilenko is a psychotherapist and multidisciplinary writer whose work lives at the intersection of psychology, creative expression, and holistic healing. With a lifelong love of poetry, fiction, and film, Alex brings a dynamic, experiential approach to the story-building process and integrates action methods like sociodrama to help students embody and explore their narratives. Alex began writing screenplays and producing films in college, joining the professional cinematic society at Columbia University before transferring to Sarah Lawrence College, where they studied eco-poetry, psychology, and film. Their writing often delves into existential themes like meaning, loneliness, love, and human nature. They also enjoy playing with psychological tension and relationship dynamics, especially surrounding identity development and queerness. Their favorite author is Jorge Luis Borges and their favorite film is Memento. They live in Norfolk, VA with their partner and two black rescue dogs.
