Sylvia Liu

Sylvia Liu is a middle grade and picture book author. She is the author of the middle grade sci-fi, &lt;em&gt; Hana Hsu and the Ghost Crab Nation&lt;/em&gt; (Razorbill/PRH, 2022), &lt;em&gt; Near and Deer &lt;/em&gt; (Scholastic 2024) and &lt;em&gt; Manatee's Best Friend&lt;/em&gt; (Scholastic 2021). Her picture book,&lt;em&gt; A Morning With Grandpa&lt;/em&gt;, illustrated by Christina Forshay (Lee &amp;amp; Low Books 2016), won the Lee &amp;amp; Low New Voices Award. She is a contributing poet to the picture books, &lt;em&gt;If I Could Choose a Best Day &lt;/em&gt; (Candlewick) and &lt;em&gt;Thanku: Poems of Gratitude&lt;/em&gt; (Lerner), has a sci-fi- short story in &lt;em&gt;Don't Touch That: A Sci-Fi and Parenting Anthology&lt;/em&gt; (2021) and a creative nonfiction memoir essay in &lt;em&gt;The Potomac Review&lt;/em&gt; (Spring 2018).

She co-founded the kid lit resource website, Kidlit411 (www.kidlit411.com), consistently named by Writers Digest as one of the 101 Best Websites for Writers and runs a companion Facebook group of over 17,000 writers and illustrators.
