Sylvia Liu

Sylvia Liu is a middle grade and picture book author. She is the author of the middle grade sci-fi, <em> Hana Hsu and the Ghost Crab Nation</em> (Razorbill/PRH, 2022), <em> Near and Deer </em> (Scholastic 2024) and <em> Manatee's Best Friend</em> (Scholastic 2021). Her picture book,<em> A Morning With Grandpa</em>, illustrated by Christina Forshay (Lee & Low Books 2016), won the Lee & Low New Voices Award. She is a contributing poet to the picture books, <em>If I Could Choose a Best Day </em> (Candlewick) and <em>Thanku: Poems of Gratitude</em> (Lerner), has a sci-fi- short story in <em>Don't Touch That: A Sci-Fi and Parenting Anthology</em> (2021) and a creative nonfiction memoir essay in <em>The Potomac Review</em> (Spring 2018).

She co-founded the kid lit resource website, Kidlit411 (www.kidlit411.com), consistently named by Writers Digest as one of the 101 Best Websites for Writers and runs a companion Facebook group of over 17,000 writers and illustrators.
