Melissa Franić

Melissa Franić likes to help writers find ways to connect to their personal stories through the written word. Before switching careers to work in higher education, Melissa was a writer and editor for several suburban Chicago newspapers, including The Naperville Sun. Melissa is co-founder of Neologian literary journal and has an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. In addition to teaching writing courses and workshops in the Chicago area, Melissa facilitated pre-pandemic writing retreats in Ireland and Croatia and looks forward to when she can travel abroad once again. Currently, she lives in East Dundee, Illinois with her husband and two cats. She is thrilled to be a part of The Muse Writers Center community.
