Tom Yuill

Tom Yuill's first book of poetry, Medicine Show, is published by the University of Chicago Press. Of it Robert Pinsky writes, "the book's brilliant imitations and adaptations cast a raking eye on Texas versions of the quasi-Byronic hero." Rosanna Warren writes, "Yuill wrings his own tunes from Texas stomp, the Rolling Stones and the lyric masters of English. He's reinventing fireworks." He has new poems and translations published or forthcoming from the Poetry Society of Virginia, and in among others, Dalhousie Review, Great River Review, Literary Imaginations, Salamander, and in the Eco-Poetry anthology Devouring the Green: Fear of a Human Planet, an Anthology of New Writing, edited by Sam Witt. Yuill has published interviews with Tim Seibles, and with Peter Campion, in Dalhousie Review where he also has an interview with Rosanna Warren forthcoming next spring, and an interview with Robert Pinsky in Newsday. He has taught, given readings of, or lectured on poetry at Boston University, Harvard University, Emerson College, the University of Pennsylvania, and University of Iowa, among many others. He currently teaches in the English Department, Honors College, World Languages and Cultures Department, and guest lectures in the French Department at Old Dominion University, and at the Muse Writer's Center, in Norfolk, Virginia.
