Teacher Feature: Jayne Ann Krentz
The fastest way to infuse energy into your writing is to start the story at a point you find exciting–not where you think the reader should start.
This semester, Jayne Ann Krentz is teaching a seminar, “Ten Tips for Writing for Today’s Popular Fiction Market” on March 14, 1pm – 3:30pm EST.
The subject of reinventing yourself will be a major theme in this seminar because, as Jayne highlights, you’ll have to do it throughout your career, including at the start.
Jayne’s favorite authors:
- Christina Dodd: Woman-in-jeopardy suspense with a Gothic vibe
- Gregg Hurwitz: His Orphan X series combines adrenaline-rush suspense with a very human assassin who is trying to reinvent himself
- Victoria Thompson: Beautifully researched historical mysteries featuring a lady sleuth.
- Mike Krentz (Full disclosure–a cousin by marriage). His new book, Dead Already, is terrific emergency room suspense
