The Muse Welcomes Robin Pearson to the Board of Directors
Robin Pearson found The Muse Writers Center in 2011, when The Muse was growing in West Ghent. She quickly became one of it’s most active students, taking dozens and dozens of classes over the years in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.
As the Assistant Director of Labor Relations for Norfolk Southern, The Muse filled a need deep within her. “The Muse is important to me,” says Robin. “It’s given me, for many, many years, an incredible outlet to express creativity that I didn’t necessarily get to use in my career.”
When she retired from Norfolk Southern in 2018, she went back to school to study English and Art History at Virginia Wesleyan. Once completed, she knew she wanted to get more involved at The Muse. “I love the fact that The Muse had branched out into wellness and is interested in helping young people and veterans,” says Robin. “They are important causes that could get overlooked, but the Muse it not letting that happen.”
She credits the practice of gratitude as the foundation for her passion for giving back to the community. “I have been incredibly blessed, and the best way to honor that is to get involved,” says Robin. “In the world of writing, there’s always a need for new voices. To be able to help facilitate that as a board member is amazing.”
Robin Pearson joins the 2025-2027 board class at The Muse Writers Center and has already been a key voice in creating The Muse’s corporate giving framework as a member of the Development Committee.
