Poetry Prompt – April 20

April 20 – Think about secondary characters in stories or novels, even in TV and movies, like Janice on Friends, or Sancho Panza of Don Quixote, or even Natasha or Boris on Bullwinkle. Write a 14-line poem to that character, a kind of sonnet in honor of them. The only sonnet rule to follow is the 14 lines. Lean into it and have fun.

From the Muse Library: Her Blue Body Everything We Know: Earthling Poems 1965-1990 Complete by Alice Walker. The book traces Walker’s evolving consciousness through her travels, the Civil Rights Movement, and personal struggles, showcasing her journey from early, delicate verses to more complex, politically charged, and spiritual poems
