Most of us are in the midst of holiday hustle and bustle, so we thought we’d start the season with gratitude and let you know how much your support of The Muse means to so many people in our community, and beyond.

If you are thinking about contributing this #GivingTuesday, December 3rd, we hope you will help us achieve our goal of doubling our outreach programs for underserved voices in our community—including youth, military & veterans, seniors, those dealing with loss, grief and trauma, and so many others.

Did you know?

• The Muse has served over 1,300 members of the Armed Forces through our military & veteran literary programs since 2021.
• Writing helps stimulate cognitive function and memory retention. It can also help preserve memories. The Muse offers several dedicated literary outreach programs for seniors, hosting classes in memoir, poetry and more.
• The Muse has provided nearly $70,000 in tuition assistance and scholarships to over 600 students and helps send 4 grateful students to college each year. We believe everyone should have access to the literary arts, regardless of their financial situation.
• Our community programs, offered in-person and virtually, are powered by a small but mighty staff and hundreds of volunteers—all helping bring the literary arts to thousands across Coastal Virginia and around the world.
• 2,173 programs and classes empowered 43,375 people over the past 3 years!
