Writing Multiple Genres in a Story/Novel
One of the hottest trends in publishing is stories that combine genres, but crafting a narrative that sits comfortably on two (or more) shelves is easier said than done. Every genre has specific expectations attached, and if you as a writer blow them off, readers will punish you for it. This class will define the characteristics of various genres, explore popular blended plots, and identify overlaps and contrasts so you can be sure to hit all the marks and truly satisfy a broad range of readers.
Please note: This class or event will be held online (using Zoom or a similar live platform). To participate, students or attendees should have a stable internet connection. Class participants: you should have a computer or device with a webcam and microphone; and your Zoom link will be automatically sent to you after you register. Check your spam box if you don't see it.
