Writing for TV
Do you have a great idea for a TV show? In this class, you’ll learn how to develop a strong concept for a TV show, the basics of TV show plotting + formatting, how to write your “Show Bible,” and finally you’ll begin writing the Pilot episode for your TV series. We’ll read and study some of the greatest TV show scripts of all time, and learn the next steps to take in getting your TV show on the air. Students will participate in writing workshops, practice giving and receiving feedback on their show ideas, and workshop their TV show scripts. This class will also explore the business side of television with an examination of TV writing room jobs and hierarchies, how to find an agent, and how to pitch an idea to a network.
