Writing Ethnically Diverse Characters

Are you an author who wants to write own voices stories or wants to write point

of view (POV) characters who do not share your ethnic background, but

you’re not sure if you should? In this seminar, we will explore the hard questions of making that leap. Students will engage with critical race theory, creative writing, and explore the current publishing landscape as they engage in writing exercises where they can arrive at a confident conclusion for themselves. Be prepared to write and learn.

Please note: This class is an online class. To participate, students must have a stable internet connection with a computer or device with a webcam and microphone.

Prerequisite: Open to: writers of all levels of experience
