Writing Diversely

Are you an author who wants to write own voices stories but you’re not
sure whether you should? Or are you an author who wants to write point
of view (POV) characters who do not share your ethnic background, but
you’re not sure if you should?

In this workshop, we will explore the hard questions of whether you
should make that leap.

The main focus of this class will be on race and ethnicity. Students
will engage with critical race theory, creative writing, and explore the
current publishing landscape as they engage in writing exercises where
they can arrive at a confident conclusion for themselves.

Please note: This class is an online class. To participate, students must have a stable internet connection with a computer or device with a webcam and microphone.

Prerequisite: Open to: writers of all levels of experience
