A Reading and Conversation with David Weber
Join The Muse Writers Center for a reading and conversation with one of the greatest science fiction authors of our era, David Weber. After a brief talk, David will read from his work, and then have ample time for questions. Military service members, veterans, and their families and caregivers will have priority seating. The event is free and open to the public and is supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
About David Weber
David Mark Weber is an American science fiction and fantasy author. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1952 he has lived the majority of his life in the Greenville, SC area. He started writing poetry and short fiction in the fifth grade, and a lifetime of reading, writing, and studying has given him a love of storytelling that clearly shows in his work. In his stories, he creates a consistent and rationally explained technology and society. Even when dealing with fantasy themes, the magical powers are treated like another technology with supporting rational laws and principles.
His most popular and enduring character is Honor Harrington, whose story, together with the “Honorverse” she inhabits, has been developed through nineteen novels, six shared-universe anthologies, a three-book young-adult series, and “Honorverse historical” Manticore Ascendant series, written with Timothy Zahn and Tom Pope. To date, David has more than eighty book titles and twenty-two separate series he has written or co-written. He is the winner of several Dragon Awards, most recently in 2019.
He currently lives in Greenville, SC with his lovely wife of more than 20 years, Sharon, their three children, two dogs, and numerous cats. Keep up with David’s schedule by following his Facebook page and at www.davidweber.net. Works can be purchased at his official on-line store Weber Universal Outfitters at www.weberuniversaloutfitters.com.
