Using Framing Devices in Story
A frame contains. It is a border, a canister, a window into a place you are not in but can see into. Frames on the wall and the page are similar, and writers can use this parallel to create their own frames through the organic process of connecting emotional and narrative content with an appropriate frame, through craft choices. Using the text Meander, Spiral, Explode by Jane Alison, I will explore different ways framing devices can be developed and executed in a nonfiction story.
