The Yearlong Fiction Studio with Michele Young-Stone

Complete or revise your book-length manuscript in this intensive, 11-month fiction-writing studio. Led by critically acclaimed novelist Michele Young-Stone (Above Us Only Sky, Lost in the Beehive, and The Handbook for Lightning Strike Survivors), this advanced-level course is tailored for serious writers ready to take their craft to the next level.

Meeting twice monthly, participants will receive expert guidance, constructive critiques, and the camaraderie of a dedicated writing cohort. Writers will have the opportunity to submit up to 30 pages per month, gaining valuable feedback from both Michele and their peers, as well as encouragement to keep pushing forward. The program’s immersive structure offers the perfect balance of discipline, support, and inspiration to help you develop a complete draft of your manuscript.

In addition to workshopping original short stories or novel chapters, the program explores the creative and professional realities of being a fiction writer. Michele draws from her MFA training and her publishing experience with Random House and Simon & Schuster to provide actionable advice on the craft and business of writing.

Whether you’re refining your skills or tackling a major project, this program fosters a collaborative, motivational environment. Enrollment requires pre-approval from Michele, ensuring a focused group of committed writers who can actively contribute to this yearlong creative journey. Let Michele be your mentor, guide, and cheerleader as you bring your fiction to life. Complete this form and get writing!

The Muse offers tuition assistance for all its programming to help make our workshops accessible to as many writers as possible. However, due to the high value and demand for a spot in this studio, tuition assistance is limited. If you would like to apply for assistance, please indicate your interest when completing the submission form. Assistance will be awarded based on need and availability.
