CANCELLED The Seven Basic Plots

In 2004, a scholar by the name of Christopher Booker wrote a text called The Seven Basic Plots: Why We Tell Stories. The book was based on 34 years of research into story forms. Booker came to the conclusion that there are essentially seven basic plots that we tell and re-tell, and that each plot is driven by a metaphysical question that human beings struggle to resolve in their lifetimes over generations and across cultures. When you understand the plots, then you might be able to understand your own writing at a deeper level, as well as getting a better understanding of yourself and your own life!
