Hannah Capin

Hannah Capin is the author of I Am Margaret Moore, Golden Boys Beware, Foul Is Fair, and The Dead Queens Club. Her novels have been featured on NPR’s Best Books of 2019 and Best Books of 2020 lists. She grew up in Tidewater Virginia and teaches fiction workshops for teen and adult writers at The Muse.

Jayne Anne Krentz 

The author of a string of New York Times bestsellers, Jayne Ann Krentz uses three different pen names for each of her three “worlds.”   As Jayne Ann Krentz (her married name) she writes contemporary romantic-suspense.  She uses Amanda Quick for her novels of historical romantic-suspense.  Jayne Castle (her birth name) is reserved these days for her stories of futuristic/paranormal romantic-suspense. 

In addition to her fiction writing, she is the editor of, and a contributor to, a non-fiction essay collection, Dangerous Men and Adventurous Women: Romance Writers on the Appeal of the Romance, published by the University of Pennsylvania Press.  Her commitment to her chosen genre has been strong from the very beginning of her career. 

She earned a B.A. in History from the University of California at Santa Cruz and went on to obtain a Masters degree in Library Science from San Jose State University in California.  Before she began writing full time, she worked as a librarian in academic and corporate libraries. She is married and lives with her husband, Frank, in Seattle, Washington.

Mike Krentz 

Mike Krentz writes medical suspense, psychological thrillers, and military fiction featuring complex characters and relationships. After retiring from the US Navy, Dr. Krentz continued his service as a consultant supporting the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center. Upon completion of that mission, he returned to his earliest life passion as a full-time writer. Mike’s fiction works include the DR. ZACK WINSTON SERIES of medical conspiracy thrillers, the MAHONEY & SQUIRE SERIES of military women’s adventure fiction, and a standalone psychological thriller, ANGELS FALLING. 

Dr. Krentz serves on the Board of Directors of The Muse Writers Center, where he also teaches fiction writing and leads an advanced fiction studio. Mike, his wife Kathryn, and miniature schnauzer Yoshi live in Norfolk, VA.

Jason Carney 

Jason Ray Carney is an author and a recognized expert of popular literature and pulp fiction. He earned his Ph.D. in English from Case Western Reserve University. His monograph, Weird Tales of Modernity (McFarland, 2019), analyzes interwar science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Reviewing Carney’s book, The Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts stated, “Carney’s book is a valuable addition to the literature on its topic. It deserves a wide readership, and a prominent place in the scholarship of American fantastic literature in the early twentieth century.” Carney is the Area Chair of the “Pulp Studies” section of the Popular Culture Association. In March of 2021, Carney guest edited a special issue of The Journal of American Culture on “pulp studies.” Carney co-edits the academic journal, The Dark Man: Journal of Robert E. Howard and Pulp Studies. In addition to academic conferences ranging from the Modernist Studies Association to the International Association of the Fantastic in the Arts, Carney is a regular guest at various fan conventions, such as the San Diego Comic Con. Carney serves on several academic review boards for presses and journals and is a member of the Robert E. Howard Foundation. 

Preslaysa Williams 

Preslaysa Williams (nee, Preslaysa Edwards) is an award-winning author who writes contemporary romance and women’s fiction with an Afro-Filipina twist. Proud of her heritage, she loves sharing her culture with her readers. She has a MFA in Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University and an undergraduate degree in Spanish Language & Literature from Columbia University.
