Social Commentary through Fiction Writing

In this one-session workshop, you will harness the power of fiction to create new perspectives and experiences that communicate commentary relevant to our time. You’ll discover how to create complex characters with strong voices, craft metaphors that pack a punch, and learn how to walk the line of social impact with the fictional escapism we all love. Whether you come into this session with fully-developed concepts or simply curiosity, you’ll leave with new material, engaging prompts, and strategies to turn a message into a manuscript.

Please note: This class or event will be held online (using Zoom or a similar live platform). To participate, students or attendees should have a stable internet connection. Class participants: you should have a computer or device with a webcam and microphone; and your Zoom link will be automatically sent to you after you register. Check your spam box if you don't see it.
