Through performance poetry, young people embrace the importance of literacy and the power of a refined voice. They develop a lifelong love of self-expression while bonding with like-minded students in a shared experience. Students learn how to represent themselves, their experiences, and their ideas, powerfully.

As this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to develop their voices, artistic expression, and represent Hampton Roads at Brave New Voices the selection process can be competitive.
