About the book: Emma’s Dad is in the Navy and he sends her postcards from around the world. Emma loves to see where her Dad is traveling an enjoys seeing amazing sights through her father’s eyes, with each new postcard he sends.

When she’s old enough, she realizes that it’s her destiny to follow in her father’s Navy footsteps and start to see the wonders of the world on her own. Standing on the same shores where she was born, she is ready to take her father on her travels the same way he did when she was young.

Now it’s her turn to send postcards from around the world!

About the author: Rachel Yurko has an AS in Social Science, BS in Communications, BA in Education Studies, MAT in Middle Grades Teaching and a MA in Creative Writing.  Her passion for learning is only topped by her passion for reading and writing and she’s had her nose in a book since she was young enough to identify all the letters of the alphabet.

Rachel was able to turn this love of education and books into a profession.  Currently she is a middle school English teacher, and gets to wear ‘punny’ t-shirt’s that make teenagers groan. She absolutely loves it!

In addition to being a lover of words, Rachel is also a Navy veteran. She served from 2012-2016 and comes from a long line of military service.  Rachel is a 3rd generation Sailor and when you combine her entire family’s service years, there is over 150 years of military service in her family.
