Memoir 1: Wednesday Mornings

The journey of memoir is mapped out by the events along life’s way that transform the primary character—you. Memoir begins with memories and then formulates those memories into a story of transformation. This course teaches the tools needed to craft memories and events into truth filled stories that resonate with the lives of your readers. Through exercises, studies in craft, and utilizing successful memoirs as models, you will obtain the knowledge and confidence to shape your story. We will aspire to exceptional craft, paying special attention to plot, scene, dialogue, imagery, setting, characterization, point of view, and figurative language. Ultimately, what begins with an unmapped journey of our memory becomes a well thought out and crafted piece.
