Mapping Your Poetry Manuscript
A poetry collection is like a music album in that it creates a compelling and cohesive experience for those who read from start to finish, while also inviting readers to drop in and reread their favorite poems. Many poets say that the final poem in a collection is the arrangement of the poems. In this workshop, we’ll explore tools and strategies for identifying your manuscript’s heart and purpose—and for mapping out the conversation that will unfold between individual poems. This workshop will be informative for all poets, but perhaps most useful to those who have built up a portfolio of revised poems and want to assemble their poems into a poetry chapbook or full-length collection.
