Poetry is about who you love, and what makes you smile. Poetry is invincibility, tragedy, beauty, strength, fragility. It’s contradiction. Poetry is You. This is YOUR time to learn more about yourself and your world through poetry. We will read reflective and observant works by Carl Sandberg, Rita Dove, Charles Wright, and Luisa Igloria. Selected poems will show you the fundamentals: line breaks, white space, rhythm, diction, imagery, etc. The best part? You will have workshopped poems of your own to kickstart a collection!
