INSIDE OUT: Intro to Memoir Writing
Everyone has a story to tell. In this generative four-week writing course, students will learn how to shape their personal stories into a universal narrative. Each week will include prompts to help writers locate, outline, and construct the specific story they want to tell and how to tell it well. We will discuss topics such as narrative structure, voice, and the primary components of memoir writing. Students will have the opportunity to share their work and learn to offer kind and constructive critiques to others. This course teaches students to be better writers and readers, as well as the transformative process of putting language to memory and experience.
The Class is free for all active duty, veterans, family, and caregivers of Langley Airforce Base. This workshop and others made possible in part through the National Endowment for the Arts.
