Historical LGBTQ Fiction
Long before terms like “gay,” “trans,” or “queer” became part of everyday language, LGBTQ lives were still lived—and often written about in coded, complex, or concealed ways. In this one-session creative writing class, we’ll explore how writers have historically represented gender and sexuality outside modern labels, and how we can imaginatively write into those pasts today. Through discussion and generative prompts, participants will begin crafting fiction that honors hidden histories, reclaims silenced voices, and expands how we tell queer stories across time.
Please note: This class or event is hybrid. Some attendees will be in-person and some will attend online. There may be a limited number of in-person seats available.
