A mixed media art and writing journal class where we dive into the depth of the human experience by discovering the archetypes of the “dark”(aspects of the feminine psyche that have been suppressed in our society) divine feminine . With fellow goddesses from folklore, history and myth, we will connect to and be empowered by their journeys – both physical and spiritual – as we embrace our own. We will look for new ways to define and reclaim aspects that have been suppressed and re-discover them as powerful tools to be used in our lives. We’ll begin with a mini-meditation, then learn about the goddess for each individual session. Next, we will look at how art portrays them and how history has remembered them. We will then create art using the influence of the session to synthesize what we choose to take away. (Rolling sessions means we will likely not cover the same goddesses twice).
