Get in Your Narrator’s Head: Character Psychology Writing Workshop

Get in Your Narrator’s Head: Character Psychology Writing Workshop” is a writer’s workshop based around “embodying” your character. Students are guided on how to give characters realistic, complex, and integrated thinking patterns and thought processes to help elevate their writings. In this course we will read excerpts from fiction novels, such as “Less” by Andrew Sean Greer, which can give us multiple insights into the literary psyche. We also will incorporate psychological and psychotherapy research to help inform students’ understanding of mental frameworks.

Please note: This class or event is hybrid. Some attendees will be in-person and some will attend online. There may be a limited number of in-person seats available. If you are participating online (using Zoom or a similar live platform), students or attendees should have a stable internet connection. Class participants: you should have a computer or device with a webcam and microphone; and your Zoom link will be automatically sent to you after you register.
