Found Poetry: A Framework for Revision
In Found Poetry, participants will engage with a range of found poetry techniques—including erasure, blackout poetry, cento, cut-up, and text fragmentation—as tools for revision. These approaches expose unexpected meanings, reshape intention, and reveal what’s hidden beneath the surface of a draft. Through hands-on exercises that rework existing texts—both their own and found materials—writers will explore revision as a generative act, using omission, rearrangement, and juxtaposition to create something entirely new.
At the end of this virtual workshop, participants will leave with fresh strategies for seeing their work anew and a personally relevant approach to revision.
Those interested in learning more about how Found Poetry challenges conventional approaches to revision can email the instructor for the course outline.
