Folklore and Mythology in Your Fiction
Folklore and mythology is alive and well–local and universal; old and new! If you are interested in learning more about how folklore and mythology can be tapped into to provide a richer and fuller context to your own stories, then this class is for you. We will look at a few examples and short scenes from such works as Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson, Madeline Miller’s Circe, and Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology. After discussing some examples, we will create our own original myths and folktales.
